Botox + Dermal fillers

Uses

Botox and dermal fillers alike may be used to treat wrinkles on the face. Each treatment is also delivered via injection. Still, both options have slightly different uses.

Botox

Botox itself is a muscle relaxer made from bacteria. It’s been on the market for over two decades, and has been used to treat neurological disorders that cause muscle weakness. It’s also used for the treatment of migraines and other medical conditions.

For wrinkle treatment, Botox is primarily used to treat dynamic wrinkles. These wrinkles occur naturally around the eyes and mouth, as well as in between your eyebrows. They become more pronounced with age. Botox injections relax the muscles near these wrinkles. Not allowing the muscles to move reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.

Botox is not used for fine lines caused by collagen breakdown.

Your healthcare provider will inject the muscles that contribute to the specific wrinkles you want treated. The injection process itself takes just a few minutes with noticeable results within two weeks.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are compounds containing hyaluronic acid, a natural compound that restores volume and fullness to your face and also diminishes facial lines. Hyaluronic acid attracts water and maintains your skin’s water volume so you achieve the look of greater hydration and fullness almost immediately. Dermal fillers address the natural loss of subcutaneous facial fat that occurs as you age. As you lose this fat, the muscles of your face are closer to the skin's surface, making wrinkles and expression lines stand out more. As the treatment is noninvasive, there is no blood loss.

CONSIDER DERMAL FILLERS TO : plump lips | lift sagging skin | reduce appearance of aging under eyes | add volume to hollowed cheeks | soften wrinkles around eyes, nose and mouth

JUVEDERM: Juvederm can help improve the contours of your skin, add volume, increase smoothness and lead to younger looking skin. Dermal filler injections cause minor discomfort, but most patients tolerate the procedure well. Many formulations of Juvederm contain pain-reducing lidocaine to help make the treatment more comfortable. Effects typically last about a year, after which re-treatment is needed to maintain results.

RESTYLANE: Restylane also uses hyaluronic acid to correct loss of volume in the skin and to combat skin laxity. It reduces wrinkles and can lift the facial features to create a youthful, tighter look. It can help enhance lips, reduce the appearance of laugh lines, smooth facial wrinkles while maintaining natural expressions, and plump and lift cheeks. Effects typically last about a year, after which re-treatment is needed to maintain results.
